Many Medicare Advantage policyholders are missing out on valuable supplemental benefits like dental, vision, hearing, and fitness perks. Why? It could be due to difficulty finding in-network providers, insufficient benefit offerings, or simply a lack of awareness about these extras and how to use them.
To address this, CMS is rolling out a new rule starting in 2025: every July, policyholders will receive a personalized “Mid-Year Enrollee Notification of Unused Supplemental Benefits.” This notification will detail all the unused benefits, their scope, out-of-pocket costs, and instructions on how to access them, along with a customer service number for further assistance.
